Spain, Spain, Spain and Spain. North, south, south and northwest. To start off this posting that is.

“Which is more important,”
asked big panda “the journey or the destination”?
“The company.” Said tiny dragon.
It’s so important to surround yourself with people who believe in you, and mostly important to surround your ‘self’ with this believe…
How crazy your dreams get and whatever comes from the heart, should guide you to your only true journey…

Legends
Tuscany mornings. One legend, according to the Etruscans and Romans, was that the Terme di Saturnia were formed by lightning bolts, thrown by Jupiter. During a violent quarrel between the two mythological deities, the bolts thrown towards Saturn had missed, causing the formations. The sulphurous spring water is at a temperature of around 37.5 °C. #tuscany #italy

Correct

The second part of Sascha's report on Băile Herculane.

In the previous part we looked at the general overview of the village and it's springs and with some detail at Băile Venera.

Picking up from here, Sascha continues:
'Ceausescu Hot Springs
Just in front of the Băile Venera springs another hot spring is coming out of the wall. Soaking Romanians told me that the water comes from another hot spring that fed in the past a hotel that belonged to Nicolae Ceausescu.
On the picture [above] you can see the ruins of the hotel with the two smaller roofs.
I tried to check the hotel, but the entrance was closed. Even if it is easy to enter on the hotel ground, I was not in the mood for Urbexing and preferred to stay in the pool at the river.
No idea if this hot spring has an official name, therefore I suggest temporarily to call the spring Ceausescu Hot Springs.
The water was 48°C hot but mixes up to quickly with the cold water from the river. The bottom was quite muddy.
The more comfortable soak was clearly on the other side of the river at Băile Venera'.
Well, we might have to use the correct name. travelguideromania:
'Opposite it is a circular building with a conical roof accommodates the Neptune Fountain II (Stomach Spring). Its water is good for diabetes. We continue upstream on the banks of Cerna to arrive at Baia Neptun (also known as Austrian Empire Baths). It is one of the most imposing buildings from Herculane Baths having its own bridge over the Cerna river'.
Pumped

After possibly naming a no name hot spring, the next on offer is actually named no name by Sascha:
'No name hot spring in Băile Herculane
Continue the walk on the right side of the river (where Băile Venere  is located) and you will come to an unpopular hot spring of 38°C.
I didn't see people bathing here, maybe because the entrance on the street was closed, maybe because of the noise of the water pumping machines right behind [the soak]'.

Massed

We now move towards Hotel Roman (Facebook), so-called because:
'In the monumental structure of the hotel [Roman] building, the old Romans Baths are incorporated. Inside, there is still an ancient bas-relief depicting the demigod Hercules. To see the remains of Roman baths you have to enter the hotel. Unfortunately this is not mentioned anywhere on the outside'.
Sascha:
'Hot springs close to Hotel Roman
The next hot spring is a bit out of the town, but still at a walking distance.
Cross the town on the left side of the river and head to Hotel Roman. It is one of the old hotels of the 80s that are still open (at the moment it is a 2 star hotel) and needs urgently a renovation. At the hotel, it gives the impression that the road ends, but it continues under a kind of tunnel and goes straight to the national park.
Around 100 m after the hotel you will find the hot springs. When you walk you will see them immediately, but probably not when driving in a car.
The water varies from 40°C to 42°C. Two concrete pools are on top, that create two waterfalls that feed the lower pools with another stream. Therefore, the lower pools have more or less the same temperature than the concrete pools. It is advisable to soak early in the morning or late in the evening when the masses are back in their hotels for dinner. It is probably the most natural hot spring in the area, and it is always great to find a hot spring that gives possibility to refresh in a cold river.
Very closeby starts a hike to two caves that are special because they are heated by natural hot gas. Do not expect sauna temperatures, it is more a humid subtropical climate in the cave'.
Barepockets describes a visit to the soaks of Roman hotel:
'Two outdoor hot-water pools await climbers in front of Hotel Roman, right on the banks of the Cerna River. These are not as smelly or crowded, but freaking hot! Luckily, there’s a solution. People improvised a small dam on the river where thermal water mixes with the river’s. And if you feel like swimming, Hotel Roman has an indoor hot-spring swimming pool'.

More on Hotel Roman itself.
Tripadvisor gives it just 2.5 stars based on 18 reviews. Examples:
'Dirt and communism are oozing from every corner and crevasse, and there are lots of crevasses....The basement with the Roman baths is a gem, like the entire falling apart town'.
Agoda reviews are similar.

Optional

Continuing with our Sascha soaking saga in Georgia, he now heads more westwards, to the the the small town of Vani.

There doesn't seem to be much on offer in the town, though of course the only reason why Sascha would want to come here, is for a local hot spring. Sascha is hooked:
'Definitively my favorite hot spring in Georgia and my first geyser soak [ever]'.
And though we are near Vani, Sascha continues:
'It is located a bit in the middle of nowhere and I found the geyser only after many discussions with locals (who often were not even aware of the spring)'.
Concerning users / usage:
'However, it appears that the geyser is quite common amongst young locals in the evening. As there is no shadow at all, the early morning or evening soak is indeed a good option. Wild camping should be possible, if you don’t want to stay in a guesthouse in Vani'.

The soaking experience itself:
'The water of around 43°C sorts out of a geyser and flows in 3 pools. Two of them are sufficient deep to soak the whole body. There was some littering around the pools but once in the pool, the littering is not any more visible and the pools itself are very clean. Some sulphur smell, the ground of the pools are shaped by the minerals of the water, some sand can be found. The surrounding itself was quite beautiful, wild horses were passing by and mountains are visible by far. Bring enough drinking water with you; the sun exposure is extreme when visiting the geyser at 11 a.m. like I did'.
Getting there:
'How to get there: take the road from Vani center to Baghdati [town] for around 7 km. Then take a gravel road to the left for about 1 km. On your right side, you will find the geyser.
GPS coordinates: N42.104196° – O42.586213°'.
Dumped
Taking a more holistic view or in other words delving into the internet, let's see if there's more info available.
There's not much: you'll find the odd photo here or there on instagram (following), other than that it seems to be a dusty neglected corner of the internet.
Visit Kutaisi notes:
Close to the village of Bzvani [or Vani?] there are a few hot sulphur spring pools which posses healing qualities. Some of them are open to everyone, available free of charge and practically the only visitors are local people. One of the pools is located in particularly beautiful spot – in a field, in the middle of nowhere. The silence and surrounding meadows create a tranquil atmosphere which makes you feel like you the only one in the world. When you look to the South you will see amazing views of the Lesser Caucasus Mountains.
Thermalsprings.ru also reports on Vani:
'Location : left bank of the river Rioni terrace, 1.8 km to the north from the road Bagdati-Vani, between the villages of Vani and Amagleba. From the road to get there can be a simple machine.

Infrastructure: no.
Description : 100 m from the riverbed Rioni, there are 4 source close - to look for. The water is very nice warm, not hot, shallow pool. Near the river Rioni, can be washed after bathing. But the place you should choose, as where the local road builders dump trucks loaded with pebbles'.
lukoninastia taking the waters recently:
Ванны на горячем источнике ранним утром @startkayak Рома и Наташа - просто кладезь интересных мест в Грузии #georgiatrip #georgiaonmymind #earlymorning #hotsprings
The local government website also mentions the hot springs, but not as a big attraction; apparently tourists should visit Vani for it's history. It's wording (translated):
'Resort "raising [a translation of ამაღლება]"The balneological resort is located in Imereti lowland on the left bank of river Rioni, 8 km from Vani, 80 m above sea level. Mineral thermal waters contain sodium, chlorine, carbon dioxide, and celery. They are treated by: chronic arthritis, hypertensive diseases, atherosclerosis, radiculitis, cardiosclerosis'.
The geyser is not the only hot spring in the area. Theculturetrip in an article named
'7 hot springs in Georgia you must visit'.
notes the  Sulori Spa resort:
'Located in Vani municipality, 11 kilometres (6.8 miles) away from the city of Vani, this resort took its name from the Sulori river. During Soviet times Sulori was a favoured visitor spot, and hosted hundreds of visitors each season. Today, the hotel is still going strong, with 32 individual bath rooms. People usually come here to treat conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system, peripheral nervous system, and metabolism to name a few'.
Other than the above there's not much to add.

Sauvage

I need it now 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼#france #hangover #happiness
In a reprise of the earlier article on the various hot springs located near Fontpédrouse (France), let's serve up more common views of these open and free sources, with more soakers in action.

Avid followers will have recognized that many a photo has already passed on this soak, let's show what hasn't been seen here yet.

Surprisingly when searching I note that there seems to more photographers heading there in winter than in summer, though as Sascha mentioned there are more visitors in summer.
For instance foixdeviladrich at Prats Balaguer:

I came across this French website entry on Bains chuads sauvages of the Pyrenees:

While there's also this Spanish walking site, with some pointers mostly on Prats Balaguer (see photo):

Wildspirited
But when presenting all three it's difficult not to avoid the _gypsy.gypsy instagram and tumblr accounts.
Atmospheric and uncensored it shows through the year how soaking here should be: freedom as you choose with or without friends.
