Is the spot reachable in winter? I've seen snow landscapes pics on the internet taken at this place, so I guess it's. However, as far I know you've to cross a water stream to get there. I'm visiting Iceland in a couple of weeks and I would like to soak there. Any input will be really appreciated.
ReplyDeleteHi, thank you for your response. I've looked this up in the hot springs of Iceland guide, it's a shallow stream with stepping stones, if this info is still correct. If it's slightly deeper. you'll need to take your shoes off before hand (and put then on later).
ReplyDeleteDo note that winter in Iceland need not always be with huge amounts of snow.

DeleteI'm finally back from Iceland. However, I couldn't make it, the place seems to be very popular even in low season. There were 3 cars at 9am in the parking lot, we headed to the spot and found 3 people inside the tub and 4 more people waiting. Obviously we left.
Pity, it seems more and more iconic landmarks are falling foul to ever increasing numbers of visitors. In this case the extent of the soak doesn't allow too much sharing. But I bet there were other soaks to use while on your holidays.
