Day 126-127 🚲🌍

A few days have passed since the events of Monday and we are trying our hardest to look ahead.

We have settled into life on the road again and are really enjoying the northeastern part of Greece! Empty beaches, beautiful mountains and (thanks to a great tip from a local) even some public hot springs, have made it easy for us. 🙌

In a few days we will reach Turkey 🇹🇷 and are excited to finally arrive in a new country after more than 2 months in Greece 🇬🇷!

The hot springs here are ranked with the most radioactive in the world. A twenty minute float a day, a juice in the morning and a shake before bed. I feel a like a new man!

What a gift!!! 🙌🙌🙌

The greater area is known since ancient times because of the Battle of Thermopylae between Greeks and Persians in 480 BC where Leonidas fought with the 300 Spartans and 700 Thespians.

Thermopylae in Greek means "Hot Gates" and according to Mythology was the cavernous gates of Hates, the God of the Underworld, in reference to the presence of the hot sulfur springs in the area.

An other story says that the waters at Thermopylae became hot because the hero Heracles went there to cleanse himself from the poisonus cape of Nessus.

Or, that goddess Athina asked her father Zeus to create them to help Hercules regain his strength after his feats.

Whatever the Myth, Thermopylae springs were sacred to the ancient Greeks and celebrated greatly, especially from women, in honor of Persephone, who was married to Hades and the daughter of Demeter, goddess of Cycle of Life, fertility, abundance and agriculture.

The sulphur hot water is in the ideal temperature of 41 degrees and has countless healing properties for asthma, rheumatic conditions, gynaecological conditions, peripheral nerve diseases and dermatological issues only to name but a few!

Truth be told though, the strong distinctive smell of sulfur dioxide (smells like rotten eggs) is the only disadvantage I experience, every time I visit the springs 🤢

However, the soft breeze from the mountain tops 🏞️ comes always to our aid and cleares the atmosphere every now and then.

The surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful, a powerful addition to the healing process, offering magical walks and hikes in a fir tree forest full of little rivers and waterfalls, birds chirping and colorful flowers!

In the present days locals and visitors enjoy the benefits of an incradvantage throughout the year!

Well it's Nice everywhere of course but so fare it is probably the country that I felt the more welcome everywhere I went.

And on this photo we were at some Nice salty hot springs, between 35° 37°, the one who knows me knows that was paradise for me.

Ma grande passion dans la vie, les sources d'eau chaude naturel 🥰🥰 celle ci sont propre, aménagé et accessible du parking en 5min à pied.
